A New York designer with Italian roots, Peter D’Ascoli, is driven by insatiable curiosity. Formally trained in Textile Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, Peter has travelled the world studying decorative arts for decades. His work in fashion and interiors is driven by a passion for international luxury, inspired from historic decoration and exotic cultures.
Peter first came to India to work on a project for the Indian government involving handcrafted textiles. During the 2 years that he spent travelling the country, he was awed by the art and culture of this ancient civilization.
Peter founded Talianna Studio in 2006, a design and product development atelier located in New Delhi, as a centre for creating luxury fabrics for home furnishing, catering to his global clientele. He has partnered with Tapestry to co-create a timeless collection of exclusive luxury furnishing fabrics, combining his unique global perspective with the richness of the Indian heritage.

Peter D’Ascoli and Tapestry, have co-created a unique signature Curated Collection of luxury furnishing fabrics – Wanderlust – inspired by the former’s passion for globetrotting and his affection for Indian heritage textiles. Available in India only through Tapestry, the collection represents D’Ascoli’s love for the art, history and culture of India.
In Wanderlust, the designer romances some of his favourite themes like Kashmir’s Jamavar Shawls and the Coromandel’s Kalamkari Cottons, to shape them into a contemporary form with fabrics like silk satins and cotton velvets, perfect for modern living.
